Hey everyone!
So here comes a small update on the editor.
For the last two weeks the editor has been in proper QA session with Testtronic. They have done a solid job which lead to us having quite a lot of bugs to fix. There were more than we had hoped for but glad we found them now so they are fixed till you get to play with it.
The bugs we found are not only small mistakes
but a lot of stuff that keeps crashing the game or fucking with performance.
Stuff like that is never fun for a beta, I mean it should be as stable as possible.
The testing will continue for two more weeks and we +Abstraction will keep fixing bugs and errors that are discovered.
Sadly this means you'll have to wait a bit longer... I know, I know. Making an editor was a bigger task than we could have ever imagined and it feels terrible that we have pushed the release date so many times now. We are sorry for that and we apologize that the time frame turned out to be unrealistic. But in the end and what is most important for us is that we make sure that the tool we release is something we can stand for and be proud of.
The editor is not canceled, it's not dead, it's not too big of a project to complete.. it's just not quite were it needs to be. But it will be!:)

SvaraRaderaIs it true Dennaton could release the editor right now in beta as you have said but Abstraction is holding it until it's "finished". Because they can't understand that community can help with the bugs?
SvaraRaderaNo this is a decision we made together with Abstraction. The bugs we found are not like small mistakes but are stuff that keeps crashing the game or fucking with performance. Stuff like that is never fun for a beta, I mean it should work and be as stable as possible and just have minor in game issues or tweaks requirements. At least that is how we see it:) Hope you understand!

Just a Question...So How will Player access the Level Editor?...Like a Update Or?..

Radera1. There were a few furniture items missing from the alpha since they weren't under Atlases/Sprites/Furniture. For example, a lot of arcade machines under Atlases/Sprites/ArcadeMachines, and the golf bag under Atlases/Boss_Bear.png. Will these be in the final version?
SvaraRadera2. Will we be able to use any .ogg file in the game as music, even ones that aren't on the official soundtrack like Hotline3.ogg, Pursuit.ogg, Videodrome.ogg, YouAreTheBlood.ogg, and ZebraBackground.ogg? I know Pursuit is just Bloodline, but it would be helpful to have for modding purposes.
3. Can we use all the walls and doors under Atlases/Sprites/Walls that were missing in the alpha? Such as the grey doors and unbreakable windows.
Thanks for taking the time to make the editor as good as possible. Having to wait this long is a bit of a drag, but I'd much rather wait for a good feature than get a bad one right away.
1. Some sprites have special code that are used at specific places in the main game. These will not be in the editor as they only work when they are in the right environment/character/situation.

I understand the point you made about the furniture items, and the missing walls/doors could clutter up the build tab, but is there any particular reason we can't use all the music in the game?

2. Will the remixed versions of Remorse and Le Perv be available to set as the music for the level?

RaderaHey hate to bother you again but will the workshop have support for skins? By that I mean if someone made a reskin to make Manny wear a hat for example could we upload that to the workshop for people to download and use? Stupid question and if possible would probably be a hassle to implement but just curious.
RaderaThat is a harder question that I can't answer right now. But I think ("I think" not "I know"!:) that you should be able to add files in the folders (such as a reskin file that people can use to change the game).

Don't worry about the delay guys. I can only imagine how much work you've put into this and even after so much time you've stuck with quality over quantity. Take all the time you need. Oh, and I figured I'd ask a few quick questions since you're still here:
SvaraRadera1. Can you use any music, that's in the game of course, in any kind of level? For example, "Dust" in an action level or "Voyager" in a scene level?
2. Can jacket do his rip and tear and body shield like in the first game?
3. Will there be any extra music in the editor that never made it to the game? For example, the music used in your trailers?
That's pretty much it. Love you guys btw and love your games. You are wicked game developers and don't let anyone tell you otherwise :D

SvaraRadera1. Will there be a cap at how many enemies you can put in a level? Dead Ahead had 90, which was pretty cool.
2. Will there be mods available i.e. I think you mentioned that levels will be in the steam workshop, would fan-made character skins be available as well?
3. Can you force a player to only play with one mask i.e. just Dallas or just Rami?
4. Do you have plans for steam trading cards?
5. Do you know the status of the collector's edition, they said something in the comments about export problems but there hasn't been a definite update...
Again, really happy this, I wouldn't mind waiting 2 months more if it came to it, as I'm going with the idea that the longer it takes, the better it will be. So ignore the guys in the comments demanding the editor immediately, they don't get how long this stuff can take to get it perfect, especially with something like this.

I know that making the levels can only be done on the PC version of the game,(which is why I bought it again on PC) but can you browse levels on the consoles? What I mean is can you play published levels on consoles?
SvaraRaderaHe said some time ago that the consoles will receive level packs made by the community on PC, but i don't think it will be possible to browse levels on console because the levels will be published through the steam workshop.

2.This is pretty much a little late to ask this but, you received a question regarding having the option to play as only one of the fans or only use special item in the selection for certain characters. Will It be possible to do the exact opposite? Like if I wanted to add Jacket in with one of his masks with the fans or make a group of characters to choose from for a select level? (jake,biker,richter,evan)<-something like that?

Because, I have a friend that have a AWESOME Hotline Miami story called The Patriots (he even made some custom sprites for the characters, and he have talent). So I wanted to know if it is still possible because I want to see my friend's sotry as a campaing in the game. I don't care about how much time it will take to do it, you guys can take all the time you want, I just want to know if you guys CAN do it (and if you guys can't, it's cool, you already giving us this badass Level Editor).

SvaraRaderaIve used a wad explorer to look at Jacket and Bikers new sprites for the level editor. It looks like all of Jackets animations are done with him maskless, is this an option now to play as Jacket without a mask? Or is it just like that for different reasons.
SvaraRaderaDennaton did that to just apply the mask that you choose instead of changin' the sprite sheet everytime you change masks. The same was made to Jake.
